The In-situ Instruments Laboratory (ISIL) is a facility at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory where engineers test robotic components and instruments in a simulated Mars environment. The ISIL viewing gallery is a popular JPL-tour destination for visitors that provides viewers an up close look at our Martian robot “stunt-doubles” on Earth. This tactile installation was created to give visitors a more educational experience as they move through an interactive timeline of the missions tested in this facility over the decades.
